Test Results
Below is an approximate guide to how long results can take to be returned to the practice. Please note that this can vary:
| X ray/ultrasound scan | up to 2-3 weeks |
| Blood tests | most within 2-7 days, epending on the test |
| Urine tests | within 7 days |
| Swabs | within 7-10 days |
| Cervical screening | up to one month |
The results of tests carried out during hospital visits are not normally sent to the practice. The easiest way to obtain your test results is to sign up to view your medical record online using the NHS App, as shown below. You may also telephone the practice after 2pm to obtain your results.
We may also contact you by telephone, text or letter about your results. Please ensure we have up to date contact details for you.
Results for patients over 16 years of age can only be given directly to the patient.
Please remember that Reception staff can only act in accordance with the GPs’ instructions, so may not be able to give you full details of a result over the telephone. This does not necessarily mean there is a problem, but simply that the GP would like to talk to you to explain the whole situation.
Please enquire about your test results on the NHS app, if you are registered on it. If not registered, we would recommend downloading it using the links below.
Registration will be processed online, without the need to visit the practice.
Through NHS app, you will also have the ability to Book or Cancel an Appointment, Request a Repeat Prescription, Change Personal Details and View your Medical Records without visiting the practice.
For getting access to your medical records, please print this form to fill and send the completed form to the practice via email/post.
